Virtually any type of truck accident can lead to serious injuries or even death. This only makes sense as most trucks are much heavier than passenger vehicles. This added weight generates more energy at impact, thus causing more serious injuries in many instances. Such may have been the case when a truck accident in Greenville County left one woman seriously injured.
According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol the driver of the truck fled the scene after the accident. The incident took place around 4:30 in the morning, north of Travelers Rest. Police report that the victim was heading south on Dacusville Road when a truck that was going north moved into the victim's lane and hit her vehicle. As mentioned above, the driver fled the scene and it is unknown if the police have located the suspected driver at this time.
The hit-and-run truck accident left the woman with serious injuries. She was transported to a hospital by ambulance. Her current condition is not known at this time. It is also not known what charges may be pending on the driver of the truck once he or she is apprehended.
When Greenville County residents are injured by the actions of others, they may be entitled to damages which can be used to help cover medical costs, lost wages and property damage. For those injured in these types of truck accidents, answers are not always easy to find. Why this driver fled the scene leaving an injured woman behind is simply not known.
